Big Canoe Animal Rescue

Our mission is to be a no kill shelter for homeless strays found in the Big Canoe community, providing them with a safe, healthy and positive environment until they are adopted into their forever loving new home. We will evaluate each animal we take in, improve their health and physical appearance, socialization skills and provide suitable forums for their adoption. We will also offer outreach support and educate the general public as to humane animal care.

Adoption Process

Our standard requirements for adoption are as follows: Applicant must be 21 years of age; Own their own home; Complete an application, Veterinary check and reference check; Agree to a home visit; Agree that the dog/cat will be a family member and not an outside dog/cat; Children should be over the age of 5 so they can help care for their new pet; Adoption fee for dogs is $200; Adoption fee for cats is $100; Some exceptions are made depending on circumstances
