Animal control is a division of the police department. Currently, the City of Oak Ridge has 4 full-time certified Animal Control Officers. Animal Control is responsible for two different aspects of animal welfare. Employees handle animal related issues in the field and daily operations of the Oak Ridge Animal Shelter.
Our adoption process is quite simple. You must be at least 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s license. Once you have picked an animal that is available for adoption, bring the kennel card to one of the staff members. The staff member will enter your information into the computer. We also require a phone number and the name and phone number of an emergency contact person for your new pet’s microchip.
