Anderson County Animal Shelter

The Anderson County Shelter houses animals until reclaimed by owners, adopt animals to local families, or transfer animals to rescue organizations. Officers handle routine calls, as well as emergency situations with pets and wild animals, and are charged with enforcing the state’s mandated animal ordinances. They also share educational information about responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.

Adoption Process

Dogs not already sterilized are are spayed/neutered on adoption, receive combo vaccination, heartworm/fiv/fe-lv test, bordatella, deworm, flea/tick treatment. Adoption fee is $85. If animal already sterilized adoption fee is $25. Our adoption fee for cats is $75 for small kittens and $50 for cats.
