We are a 501c3 rescue that is dedicated to helping miniature horses, donkeys and mules to help prevent them from going to auction. Our goal is to help people understand how to care for minis and know that we are here to help. Donations are used to feed, shelter, provide medical care, transport, farrier costs and site visits. We do not receive any grants so we rely on your help. Together we can do big things for these little equines.
Must be 18 years or older and must be adopting for themselves or their immediate family. We have a no breeding clause. Mares and jennies will not be adopted to a home with stallions or jacks. Gelding will occur before adoption or as soon as physically able We ask for several references as well as a vet reference. Our site visits are simple... we are looking for safe fencing, access to some sort of shelter, fresh water and limited pasture. Miniatures cannot be housed with full sized horses due to increased risk of injury to either the mini or large horse because of the size difference between the two. Minis will be adopted in pairs unless the new family already has a mini. Adoption fees may vary but are normally $250 for standard donkeys and ponies (over 40"), $300 for miniature horses, and $400 for miniature donkeys. We do reduce adoption fees for pairs and multiples Since we do not have the history on all mares they can occasionally be pregnant when adopted. The foal must be adopted after birth (there is no fee for this) or returned to the rescue when weaned. We do offer transport within a five hour radius. Cost is $2/mile one way.
