Furreverhomes Rescue - Summerdale Pet Shelter

Our mission and vision is to save animals of all sizes and all species by placing them into loving, forever homes. We are an all-volunteer, foster home based, certified 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in South Alabama. We do not have a facility. Instead, we operate primarily through our foster homes, Facebook, Petfinder and at adoption events. The majority of our animals come from shelters, where overcrowding and overpopulation leads to the euthanasia of millions of healthy, friendly pets every year. We are committed to providing the animals that come into Furrever Homes Rescue with the best possible care while they wait for their furrever homes by acclimating them to life outside of a shelter and providing any and all veterinary care needed. We also serve our community and adopters by educating and encouraging responsible pet ownership with an emphasis on the need for spaying and neutering. We also do our best to break down the stereotypes of many “bully” breeds. People don't understand that any breed can be taught to be aggressive and need to stop blaming the wrong end of the leash! We never turn down an animal simply because it will be "too expensive to treat". We often take in animals with special needs and will rehabilitate them until they are healthy and ready to be adopted. We have an amazing group of board members, volunteers, and supporters. We will continue to be the voice of the voiceless ♡
