Daphne Animal Shelter - Daphne Pet Shelter

The City of Daphne Dr. Albert Corte, Jr. Animal Shelter takes in about 800 to 1000 animals every year. Most have either strayed from their homes or been abandoned. About a third are adopted, rescued or reclaimed. Adopting an animal from the shelter can literally save its life, and our adoptions are relatively inexpensive. You may visit and adopt an animal during kennel hours or at special events.

Adoption Process

To adopt an animal you must: Be at least 18 years old & be able to provide verifiable identification; Guarantee adequate exercise, food, water, shelter, vaccinations, medical care, grooming, identification, lifelong care and love for your new pet; If you rent, provide permission for a pet from the owner or manager of your rental unit; Adhere to state and local ordinances pertaining to animal care and control. Adoption fees for dogs and cats include the cost of the surgical sterilization of the animal (for dogs & cats over 4 months). New pet owners incur the cost for heart worm test, first distemper/parvo vaccination, deworming and rabies vaccination. If the animal is already spayed or neutered, the adoption fee is only $25
