Situated 10 miles southwest of Boston on the beautiful grounds of the former summer sanctuary for the city’s working horses, ARL’s newly remodeled shelter in Dedham, Massachusetts is just a glimpse into ARL’s bold future. The new modern shelter design allows us to provide even more animals with high-quality direct animal care that meets best-practice standards in animal welfare. The 27-acre property serves as ARL’s main livestock center and is home to Pine Ridge Pet Cemetery the oldest continuously operated pet cemetery by a humane society in the United States.
