Wild About Cats of Cumberland County is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to humanely reducing the outside cat population in Cumberland County through Trap-Neuter-Return. Neutered feral cats are placed at feeding stations that also provide shelter. Young kittens and friendly strays are neutered and provided medical care before being placed for adoption.
All applicants must complete an application. The application will be reviewed, a background check will be done on a public information website and social media, and personal references will be checked. WACCC reserves the right to deny an adoption to an applicant. If the application is approved, the applicant will be required to sign an adoption agreement that includes, among other items, a promise to never declaw a cat. Payments are accepted through PayPal or by personal check. All cats are fostered in Tennessee but we use a professional transport service to transport cats to most states. The adoption fee covers testing for FIV/FeLV, flea treatments, neutering, rabies vaccinations and FVRCP inoculations. In addition, out-of-state adoption fees cover the transportation fee, and final vet checkup to get the required USDA interstate health certificate.
