West Jersey Volunteers For Animals - Williamstown Pet Shelter

West Jersey Volunteers for Animals (WJVA) is an all-volunteer group formed in 1998 by four volunteers determined to improve life quality, medical care, and adoption rates for the 2,200 animals that passed through West Jersey Animal Shelter each year. In four short years, our group dramatically decreased euthanasia rates at the shelter. We are very gratified that our work, along with generous public support, helped save over 700 orphaned animals each year for the past eight years. We also substantially increased medical care at the shelter, spending thousands of dollars annually to save sick and injured animals that would otherwise be euthanized. We provided vaccinations, spaying and neutering. We provided shelter animals daily exercise and affection and organized events and promoted animal adoptions.

Adoption Process

Animals adopted from WJVA must successfully pass a health and temperament screening and must be spayed or neutered before they are released from the rescue. Our adoption fees range from $150.00 for dogs 8 years and older, $250.00 for dogs up to 7 years old, and puppies are $300.00. Adoption fees cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchip identification, 4dx test, worming and monthly preventatives. Adoptions are not on a first come basis. Finding the Best Match for the dog and potential adopter is our top priority. WJVA is an all volunteer rescue. Our dogs are in private foster homes or partner boarding kennels. Arrangements will be made for applicants to meet the animals in a timely manner. Thank you for wanting to Adopt and Save a Life.
