Any questions or concerns related to wildlife such as: damage complaints, sick, injured, orphaned, and human / animal exposures may also be directed to Animal Control. Informational fact sheets are available on indigenous species of wildlife by request. All impounded animals are checked for microchips, tattoos, and tags. Every impounded animal is advertised in the Lost and Found column of the Waterbury Republican. Connecticut law states all impounded animals need to be held for seven days after advertisement before they are available for adoption. Each dog undergoes temperament testing prior to their consideration for adoption.
