Triangle Beagle Rescue of NC (“TriBeagles”) was started in the summer of 1999 by Susan Hogarth and a group of Raleigh-Chapel Hill area beagle enthusiasts who wanted to see all homeless beagles in the lifetime homes they deserve. In the summer of 2000, TriBeagles formed a Board of Directors and began the incorporation process. We became incorporated in the fall of 2000 as a Federal tax-exempt organization. We have been committed to bringing together humans and hounds for a lifetime of love and pleasure in each other’s company ever since!
Before filling out an application, read the guidelines to make sure you are ready to adopt a beagle. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please read our Puppy Guidelines. Browse the list of available beagles and find a few that you and your family may be interested in. Fill out the Adoption Application completely and honestly. We want to make the best match between our beagles and your lifestyle. Our approval process generally takes between 2-3 weeks to complete. As part of the approval process, a vet reference check will be performed for current and recent pet owners. Not providing a valid vet reference will delay your approval. Once you’ve submitted an application you will be contacted by a volunteer within 10 days for a phone interview. During the phone interview we will discuss your attitude toward dogs, your family and home situation and what type of dog would be a good fit for you. Any questions or concerns we may have about your application and/or suitability for a beagle will also be discussed at this time. Once the phone interview in completed, a volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit (again within 7-10 days). During the home visit, we will ask to see your home and meet your family to help us gauge which beagle is a good fit for you. We will also answer any questions you may have and make recommendations to prepare you and your family for a beagle. After the home visit you will be notified if you are approved to adopt. If you are approved, Congratulations! you are ready to add a beagle to your family! Your adoption coordinator will work with you to find the best beagle for you.
