They All Want To Live - New York Pet Shelter

We are an all-woman run, foster-based, animal rescue and advocacy organization based in New York. Together, our members bring to the group decades of experience in rescuing, rehabbing, and finding homes for some of the most routinely overlooked, mistreated, and exploited animals - ducks and chickens. Domestic fowl suffer by the billions each year, with few people advocating on their behalf or even aware of their plight. Over the last several years, we have worked tirelessly to rescue hundreds of birds from abandonment, neglect, and abuse. When working with animals, it becomes immediately apparent that they all have one thing in common - the will to live, and to live their lives in peace, comfort, and safety.

Adoption Process

To adopt any of the below animals, or to become pre-approved to adopt future rescues, please email TheyAllWantToLive@gmail.com or complete our adoption application and email it to us. The adoption application is not required and some adopters prefer to send us photos of their set ups or discuss adoption criteria over the phone instead of the written application - whatever you prefer! We will adopt out anywhere in the northeast, from Maine to Delaware, and try to assist with transportation. They All Want to Live also provides grants to qualified homes who are willing to adopt our harder to place-yet nonetheless lovely-birds, including roosters and drakes. Funding for part or all of the cost of the necessary predator proof housing may be available. Grants are available both to sanctuary and private homes.
