Tennessee Dachshund Rescue (TDR) was founded in Cookeville, TN in (May of 2019) by Leslie Hardin. We are an all-volunteer organization working tirelessly to rescue dachshunds in Tennessee and surrounding states who have found themselves homeless for one reason or another. We rescue dachshunds of all shapes, sizes, ages, and conditions. The volunteers at Tennessee Dachshund Rescue are always on the go, taking homeless dachshunds off the street and make them as comfortable and happy as possible until we can find a loving home for them - no matter how long it takes.
1. Apply. We appreciate you wanting to bring a dachshund into your home. In order for us to find the right family member for you, we need you to submit an adoption application. 2. Review. We will review your application upon receipt. If we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you for clarity. 3. Home Visit. Once your application review is complete, a Tennessee Dachshund Rescue volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit to discuss all-things dachshund . During the home visit, we look for potential hazards for the Dog that the adopter may not have considered. All household members must be present during the home visit. This includes all pets. 4. Finding Your Pet. Once approved to adopt, the search for your Dog begins. Volunteers will begin to evaluate dachshund currently in our foster care program who may be a good fit for you and your family. We would also be open to discussing Dogs in our care that you are specifically interested in.
