Steel City Cat Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue in Birmingham, AL. Our rescues come to us from a variety of backgrounds including feral born, stray, owner surrenders and those that have been intentionally abandoned. We provide these cats/kittens with all the TLC they need including all necessary vet care, proper nutrition, socialization and a warm, loving environment to live until they find their forever homes.
The first step in our adoption process is completing an application. Please be honest in all your answers as this will help us in recommending which cat(s) is likely to be the best match for you! Once we receive your application, we can move forward with setting up a meet and greet with cats we feel will best fit into your family/lifestyle, as well as any cats you are interested in. Helping you choose a lifelong member of your family is our goal. Some of our cats do well in quite, low-key environments, while others want to be the life of the party. Some do well with other animals and prefer to be the one and only. We ask that you keep an opened mind when coming to visit with us. A cat that you looks the exact opposite of what you had in mind might end up being your purrfect match!
