Slumdog Rescue Crew - Andersonville Pet Shelter

Slumdog Rescue Crew

Slumdog Rescue Crew is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue located in Andersonville, TN. We are dedicated to rescuing URGENT dogs from the "slums" of high-risk shelters. We are a volunteer-based organization with years of animal and rescue experience amongst our volunteers. SRC is devoted to helping the most needy of the canines, rehabilitating the dogs under our care to physical and emotional health as they await their permanent homes. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed homes, following an adoption process, which includes an adoption application, vet reference check, and home visit. Slumdogs are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while awaiting their forever home. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority. We strive to work with area shelters and other rescues to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a village dedicated to saving homeless pets. We work with our local shelters, Anderson and Campbell County to help dogs have more exposure for adoption. We assist in helping these dogs in ways of transport, social media and outings. Transport is a great resource for southern dogs to move on to bigger and better things in the northern states like Wisconsin, Michigan, New Jersey and New York. We have partnered with The Humane Society, Tennessee Valley and their efforts to help dogs find families via Traveling Tails transport. We also work with Campbell County Animal Shelter and their transport organization.

Adoption Process

Once we have reviewed your application, we will complete a vet reference check and home visit before we send you home with your new furbaby! It is important to note that in the event we have more than one application for a dog, we reserve the right to choose the home that we feel is best for that animal. Fosters will always have the first pick and final say since they know their foster pup best and can determine the home that will be the most compatible.
