Safpaw Outreach And Rescue (soar) - Nashville Pet Shelter

Safpaw Outreach And Rescue (soar)

We are a foster based animal rescue in the Nashville area. Our mission is to work as a shelter diversion for animals who are facing homelessness, through no fault of their own. We provide vet care, a foster and adoption for animals belonging to owners who are homeless or living below the poverty level, where rehoming is their only option. The majority of SOARescue animals come to us through our big sister organization SAFPAW (Southern Alliance for People and Animal Welfare). If you would like to learn more about SAFPAW and their weekly spay/neuter transport, homeless outreach program and women's post recovery home, please visit their website at www.safpaw.org. If SOARescue has the capacity to aid with other strays or owner surrenders, we will gladly do so. Our goal is to help relieve pressure on the over-burdened shelter system.

Adoption Process

1. Submit an application for the pet you are interested in. Our pets are listed on our website, on PetFinder and our Facebook page. You can also apply using this link : https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/SFP/Dog Please make sure to put the name of the animal that you are applying to adopt. 2. Once your application is received, our Adoption Coordinators will contact you via phone or email; typically within 72 hours to arrange a time for the Initial Interview. Note: if there is an end date listed in their bio, then please do not expect to be contacted before that date. 3. Adoption Coordinator will perform initial interviews. This interview helps us determine if you and the particular pet are a match. If yes, we move on to the next step. If not, we will let you know. We also will determine if we have another animal that is a match. 4. If we feel that you are a good match, then we will begin the reference checks. These include veterinarian checks as well as personal reference checks. If all goes well, then we move on to the next step. (If there are multiple applications, we will take the time to determine who we feel is the best fit and move forward with that applicant). 5. We arrange a meet and greet, typically at a neutral location. If there are current pets in the household, we will arrange a second meet with your pets.. If all goes well then we move on to the last and final step! 6. We begin a 2 week Foster to Adopt, also known as trial, period. During this time, we will provide you with any supplies you need. Your Foster Coordinator will be in contact during this time to make sure that you guys are getting any and all the support you need! Our goal is to finalize your adoption by the end of 2 weeks, however we can be flexible in certain situations.
