Rainbow Rescue - California City Pet Shelter

Rainbow Rescue is an 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit Organization since 1998 and have helped over 2100 pets find their new loved lifetimes to date. Specialized in small moms & litters or small dogs, we work together and assist all families with all types of breeds/sizes with experienced, informative alternative rescue options. We are a no-kill shelter and all of our pets are spayed/neutered, current shots, medically healthy and micro-chipped. In our dedicated and deeply committed rescue efforts, we partner with city & county animal shelters, various all breed and pure bred inclusive of Brittanies, Doxies & Mini Schnauzers in finding their new and equally devoted lifetime, loving families.

Adoption Process

We have an adoption application, micro-chip transfer form, contract and adoption donation. As a general rule, (dependent on the pet size & family lifestyle) we require all pets have a fenced in yard & outside play area. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, shots, micro-chipped and vet health checked completely healthy at time of adoption. On all small or young puppy adoptions, we have a mandatory contract agreement to spay/neuter when old/big enough as approved by the vet. All you need to do is love and license! In times where we feel some pets cannot be separated from their mate, we offer a discounted donation if you adopt both pets at the same time.
