APET Rescue is a non-profit no kill 501 (c)3 animal rescue for dogs and cats located on Edwards AFB. Our facility is run by an all volunteer staff. We are open 7 days a week for animals to be viewed. You must have base access to visit the facility.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out a pre-screening form. If approved our adoption team sets up a time/date for a home check and brings the animal with us. If all goes well you will sign our adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and start your 14 day trial period with your new furry companion. All adopters get 14 days to ensure the animal is the best match and that everyone in the home (humans and other pets) are all happy and meshing well. Should for some reason your new addition not be a good match (as long as it's within the 14 day trial period) you simply bring them back and we will return your adoption fee. However, we try our very best to make sure every adoption goes well by providing our adopters advice, help, and suggestions throughout the adoption process to make the transition easy for everyone.
