Adoption Process

Pet Rescue Team has an adoption and interview process that allows us to make sure that we match you with the perfect pet for your family. YOU MUST MEET OUR MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT OF 25 AND PROVIDE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE/STATE ID. There is an application to be completed followed by an interview and follow up that may include a phone call, email or home visit. We will do a background check, personal reference check and vet reference check. A home inspection will be required prior to adoption approval. If approved, must be able to pay $200 adoption fee in full. After the application has been submitted and reviewed, you will be contacted by a Pet Rescue Team representative or by the foster of the pet you are interested in so that you may have a meet and greet and any questions can be answered by the foster as they have been caring for the pet and know his/her personality and demeanor best. If you are interested in meeting a specific dog/cat please let us know that one must be approved for adoption first and provide proper ID as stated above and then we can arrange a meet and greet with the pet and foster. Please keep in mind that Pet Rescue Team is a foster and volunteer based rescue group and all are unpaid. We try to respond to you as quickly as possible but please allow us 4-7 days to get back to you.
