Paws of Valor Animal Rescue was founded in July 2015 to help homeless pets in East Tennessee and nearby areas receive the veterinary care and forever homes that they deserve. We are a 501c3 non-profit corporation, whose focus is on saving adoptable animals located in kill-shelters in rural communities in East Tennessee, as well as finding loving forever homes for pets that are "pound bound" due to circumstances beyond their control. All animals that Paws of Valor Animal Rescue commit to helping receive comprehensive vetting, including mandatory spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, heartworm treatment if necessary, monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and treatment for other medical conditions as needed, prior to adoption. All adopted animals go to their new homes with complete veterinary records. We are a foster-based rescue, which means are adoptable animals have been living in foster homes or in boarding in the East Tennessee area prior to adoption. Bringing a new furry family member into your home is a big step, and a lifetime commitment, and we work very hard to make sure that adopters and their selected pet are a good match. Potential applicants must complete an adoption application, and agree to veterinary and personal reference checks, and home visits. Adoption contracts and agreements are also required to finalize adoptions. We coordinate successful adoptions local to the East Tennessee area, as well as to the New England/New York/Great Lakes area (Please note: We are unable to adopt to residents in Massachusetts at this time). We utilize Rescue Riders LLC for most of our out of state adoptions. Adoption fees vary on our adoptable pets depending upon your location; please contact us for more details! We are also proponents for visiting your local animal shelters to search for a new furry family member to add to your home! There are many wonderful, adoptable pets looking for second chances, every day.
