The Paw It 4ward Foundation (501(c)3) was started with the goal of ensuring that no animal is euthanized due to lack of medical care. We are a passionate and dedicated all-volunteer staff on a mission to make an impact in our local community by stopping the overpopulation and euthanasia of bully breeds through education, rescue, and community initiatives. Today, we not only provide medical grants to local animal rescues, we also: Rescue and foster bully breeds from high-kill shelters. Support foster families with all resources needed for care and provide our rescue bullies with training, socialization, open-spaces, and careful placement into life-long loving families
Submit an application - All applications are processed in the order they are received, reviewed for best-fit basis and generally take 2 to 3 days to review. We may follow-up with additional questions prior to an initial approval and will check in with your veterinarian and references before we can get back to you. Phone interview - One of our volunteers will set up a phone call to discuss your application and the needs of the dog you are interested in. This is an opportunity to tell you about the specifics of a particular dog and answer any questions you may have to make sure it’s a good fit. In-person meet - After initial approval, we require an in-person meet with the dog you are interested in. Depending on the dog, the potential adopter, and whether there is an existing pet in the home, several in-person meets may be required. Home check - All applicants will receive a home visit before final approval to adopt. Foster-to-adopt trial period - A two-week foster-to-adopt trial period will take place post in-person meet(s), interview, references checks, and home visit. Dogs need a decompression period and time to get used to their new environment and family. This trial period gives everyone the time to make sure it’s a perfect forever fit. We’ll be here to help make the transition as smooth as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding through the process. Our goal is to find the best possible home for our pups. Final adoption approval is at the discretion of Paw It 4ward.
