It began by feeding a single can of cat food to a couple of cats by a set of co-op buildings in Astoria, Queens. Then one can turned into two, then four, then six each night. Before I knew it, I was caretaking a colony of cats and that is how I began my quest. Wanting to do something to help them, within a few months I began Trap-Neuter-Return of those cats along with rescuing a litter of four kittens from one of the females I was feeding. That was in August 2014. Since then, I have been actively responding to reports of kittens in alleyways, colonies of unfixed cats in back yards, homeless friendly cats, and other cat-related situations. Since August 2014 I have directly saved or improved the lives of over 2000 cats and kittens through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), kitten rescue and adoptions, and the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of thrown out and abandoned adult cats. Indirectly I have helped many, many more through personal assistance and education.
