RSR / Oklahoma Beagle Rescue, Inc. was established in 2004 as the only known Beagle rescue in the state of Oklahoma. To establish a better rescue, OKBR later became part of The RockySpot Rescue. The founders began the beagle rescue in response to the growing numbers of beagles ending up in kill shelters all over the state. They began their rescue experience in an all-breed rescue and eventually concentrated all their efforts into rescuing the greatest and most loving of all breeds- the beagle.
Our procedure is as follows: Complete the adoption application ON-LINE. (Incomplete applications will NOT be considered. If a question does not apply to you, please mark N/A). OKBR will contact your veterinarian for a reference check, if you already have existing pets in the home. If the vet check is satisfactory, your application will be considered. If your application is approved by OKBR volunteers, we will schedule a home visit. During this time, one of our volunteers will visit your home, along with the beagle youre interested in adopting. He/she will inspect the potential living arrangements and conditions of any existing pets in the home and/or the planned arrangements for the potential OKBR beagle. If your home inspection is satisfactory, you may adopt an OKBR beagle, provided you agree to and sign the Adoption Agreement.
