1. Complete application online. Please be sure to review the “minimum requirements” before filling out application. Once your application is received, it will take 24 to 48 hours for us to review your application and do a civil and criminal back ground check. We will call or e-mail you and give you more details about your specific animal and answer any questions that you may have. We do most of our communication through email so please keep an eye on your inbox AND spam folder. 2. Meet and Greet. Once your application is approved, we will set up your meet and greet. This is when the dog’s foster parent will call you and set up a time, place and date for you to meet the dog. This gives you the opportunity to meet the dog in person. Please be sure that the whole family and other dogs that live in your home attend the meet and greet. 3. Home Visit. Home visit gives us an opportunity to see where the animal could be spending the rest of it’s life! This is a very informal meeting. We want everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed. We want to make sure that everyone will be happy with the possibility of a new family member. New additions may not be accepted right away, but we want to make sure that everyone can “get along”. 4. Waiting Period. After the meet and greet and home visit, we give both parties 24 hours to think about the possibility of the adoption. We want everyone to make sure that this is the perfect fit for the dog and the adoptive family. If both parties agree that it is a great fit, we will follow through with the adoption. 5. Sign Adoption Agreement. At this time we will have you sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee. We will email you an invoice and you will pay online (i. note that a 3% fee will be added for credit card transactions ii. online payment is currently the only way to pay invoice.) 6. Spay-Neuter Agreement. All dogs will be spayed or neutered unless they are under 3 months or underlying health condition. You are responsible for getting your dog spayed or neutered around 4 months and this is included in your adoption fee. Your adoption coordinator will reach out to you around this time to get you scheduled with an in-network vet. 7. Completion. After all steps have been completed, the adoption is official. Paper work next steps: Dog vet records, a copy of your invoice and contract will be mailed within 5 business days. Dogs with rabies tags will be mailed out 5-7 days after adoption (not all dogs will have rabies tags). About 10-14 days after the adoption your prepaid microchip packet will arrive by mail. Please be sure to register your microchip once you receive this!
