Indy Shih Tzu Rescue is a group of dedicated volunteers who work in Central Indiana and surrounding areas to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Shih Tzus, Shih Tzu Mixes, and other small breed dogs in need. ISTR volunteers work side-by-side with volunteers from other reputable Animal Rescue Groups. The dogs brought into our rescue come from high-kill shelters, local shelters, breeders, puppymills, and owners who can no longer care for their dog due to their passing, illness, or other catastrophic circumstances. Young, old, sick, or injured- ISTR will rescue as many dogs as resources will allow.
