In December 2019, Hero Hound Rescue Mama Michelle & husband Derek saw a beagle facing a deadline in West Tennessee. A rescue was ready to pull, an adopter waiting to give the pup love, all this beagle needed was someone willing to drive to the shelter (3.5 hours) and foster until transport could be arranged….how could we say no? Well, fostering felt so good, that 1 foster quickly turned into 3 fosters that turned into many more. In less than a year, Michelle and her husband had fostered over 50 beagles and pups in need for amazing rescues throughout the US. Thanks to these rescues, their advice and continued partnerships, Hero Hound Rescue was founded in August 2020 to help even more pups in need. Hero Hound Rescue, formally known as Hound Education and Rescue Operations, is a small foster-based 501c3 beagle and other hound rescue dedicated to saving hound lives through quality vet care, education and lots of love.
