Help For Homeless Pets - Billings Pet Shelter

Help For Homeless Pets

Help for Homeless Pets (HHP) is a 501(c)(3) no-kill animal shelter operating in Billings, Montana, and serving primarily Yellowstone County since 1998. Our primary goals are: 1) to find permanent homes for homeless pets; and 2) to promote spay/neutering in an effort to curb pet homelessness and other tragic consequences caused by overpopulation. HHP does not kill or euthanize animals; rather, we provide shelter at the facility or in a foster home until a homeless pet finds its permanent home. We house up to 100 cats and 40 dogs at our facility located at 2910 Hannon Road in Billings, Montana.

Adoption Process

Anyone wishing to adopt an animal is required to complete an application. HHP must ensure that the animal being placed will be well taken care of by screening those seeking to adopt. If a pet has not been spayed or neutered, those adopting must agree, in writing, to doing so by our veterinarian. If another veterinarian completes the procedure, HHP will provide a certificate entitling you to a partial refund for the sterilization procedure. The adoption fee includes rabies shots when necessary, and distemper and parvo vaccinations. The adoption fee varies based on the type of animal, age, and unfunded medical treatment received. A portion of the fees collected also help HHP pay for basic needs and the spaying and neutering of other pets in the facility. HHP will gladly answer any questions and assist whenever possible after the completion of adoption. Please remember that HHP will accept relinquishment of the pet if, after adoption, you determine that your home is not a good match for the pet.
