Hearts Of Hope Dog Rescue - Grand Rapids Pet Shelter

Hearts Of Hope Dog Rescue

Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Founded by Director Janelle McFarlane on November 23, 2011, Hearts of Hope's dogs are provided with the best possible vet care, a safe place to stay and the love they deserve. We do not have a shelter facility. Our volunteer foster homes take these wonderful dogs into their homes until we find their forever families. Pet overpopulation is a global crisis. Our local animal shelters are full of wonderful dogs that just need more time and help finding the right home. Many of our dogs come from these local county shelters. Hearts of Hope strives to help as many dogs as possible. If we are able, we will help. We know we can’t save them all, but it matters to the ones we can save.

Adoption Process

1. The first step is completing our Adoption Application. Please email rescueofhope@gmail.com for an application. 2. If your application shows you could be a good fit for the adoptable dog, you will be contacted to schedule a home visit. We will bring the dog over for a visit and discuss whether it is the right placement for you and the dog. 3. After the home visit, we we will both take a day to consider whether it is the right match because we want our dogs to go home to stay! 4. If everyone is in agreement, the adoption will take place and you will sign an adoption contract and commit to giving our rescue dog a forever home!
