Grahamville Rescue & Sanctuary - Joliet Pet Shelter

Grahamville Rescue is a group of volunteers whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. Whenever possible we also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners. All Grahamville Dogs are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. They are all spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date on shots before being placed in their new homes. All Grahamville Dogs are evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners.

Adoption Process

Our process consists of 3 steps. Your application will be reviewed to make certain the dog you are interested in is a good match for your household. If so, the foster parent will contact you to discuss adoption further. A home visit must be completed and approved prior to setting up a time to meet the dog. The final step is the meet and greet. If we find that you are not a match for the dog you applied for, we will contact you to see if you would be interested in another available dog more closely suited to your lifestyle.
