Franklin County Humane Society - Union Pet Shelter

We promote animal and human welfare through: care and adoption of homeless animals; programs that enrich people’s lives through animal interaction. We seek to fulfill our Mission by providing: an open-admission shelter where homeless animals receive compassionate treatment, medical care, and adoption opportunities; life-saving approaches to animal care including animal fostering, transportation, and off-site adoptions; community programs that unite people and animals for learning opportunities and enjoyment; and educational programs that reduce animal abuse, pet overpopulation, and euthanasia.

Adoption Process

Our staff will work with you and your family to find a pet that is right for your lifestyle. If you are considering one of our adoptable pets, we ask that you come in and meet with the animal. If you are looking to adopt a dog, and have other dogs at home, we request that you bring your pet in for a meet and greet before adopting. You may fill out an application online prior to coming into the shelter. We do not accept holds for specific pets until you have met the animal. Some pets may not be immediately available to leave the shelter. In order to be considered for adoption, you must be 21 years of age or older. If you rent, you should be aware of your landlord’s policy regarding pets.
