Dog Saver is a no-kill and a 501c3 non-profit all dog breed rescue and adoption organization founded in Washington, Missouri. Organized in 2010, the rescue continues to provide an alternative to shelter environments and has served this vision well. We've successfully provided foster homes and subsequent permanent homes to over 1,000 dogs to date. We work exclusively with foster homes to give homeless pets the chance to socialize in a home environment. This gives them the advantage of transitioning to their new forever homes much more easily and quickly. Dog Saver also works closely with other rescue groups in Missouri. We help with transport, fostering, and adoptions whenever we can.
Our adoption process consists of a Pre-Application, Adoption Agreement, and a Home Check. When adopting a puppy under the age of 6 months there is also a Puppy Agreement that must be completed. All of our dogs are up-to-date on shots, spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested and on a monthly heartworm and flea preventative. Our adoption fees are $200-$250 for adults (a year of age or above) and $250-$300 for puppies (under one year old). You can rest assure when adopting a homeless pet from Dog Saver you're gaining a life time friend. All of our dogs are temper tested and fully vetted including Spay/Neuter, Vaccines, Microchip and HW/FIV tested. We also give all of our dogs HW/Flea/Tick Prevention during their stay with our carefully screened foster homes. Our team offers specialized, compassionate help for your adoption journey and understands that this is a life changing event for you, your family and the dog you’re adopting. We help you make the right decision when picking your forever friend and offer support to you after your adoption. If at any time in the dog's life you find yourself in situation where you can no longer care the dog, we welcome them back to Dog Saver and will find them a carefully screened home in which both pet and adoptive family meet each other’s needs. All adoptions require a completed and approved application. Once your application is approved a Dog Saver Representative will set up a meet and greet for you and your whole family to spend some time getting to know the pet you’re interested in adopting. If a connection is made, you will have 24 hours to contact us and let us know you want to go through with your adoption. A Dog Saver Representative will make an appointment to do a home check. We require your home to be safe for the pet you’re looking to adopt. Once approved, the signed contract agreement and adoption fee is due. You will also receive all vetting paperwork including microchip information. We will take a picture of your family with it's newest addition. This is a special moment in all of our lives and what better way to never forget that magical day than with a photo. We will email you a copy of the photo and reserve the right to use the photo on any of our Dog Saver websites or publications. We look forward to taking this amazing journey with you and hope you find love here.
