Forever Home Feline Ranch - Springfield Pet Shelter

Forever Home Feline Ranch (FHFR) is a not-for-profit volunteer animal welfare group, registered and inspected by the State of Illinois. We are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) charity. We are also a PetSmart Partner, registered with PetSmart Charities. Our threefold mission is to provide every cat in need a forever home, be a sanctuary where cats will have a second chance to live a full life in a no-cage, no-kill environment, and to lead the effort to make Central Illinois a no-kill community by ending euthanasia as a method of controlling feline populations. FHFR is supported solely by community donations and fundraisers. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. We are administered by a Board of Directors and operated by a small but very dedicated group of volunteers. We are always looking for more volunteers as the number of cats in our care continues to grow. We conduct off-site adoptions at PetSmart and Ace Hardware (Walnut Street). Our adoptable cats are listed on Petfinder. We have saved over 400 cats since our inception in March 2009. 50% of the cats at FHFR are sanctuary cats, meaning their forever home is the Ranch. The other 50% are adoptable and can be seen at our off-site adoptions.
