Chesapeake Cats and Dogs (CCAD) is a lifetime haven and no-kill animal rescue organization. It is dedicated to rehabilitating and providing a second chance to cats and dogs that have been abandoned, abused, lost, strayed, or surrendered. Formed in 2006, our organization consists of a group of dedicated volunteers working to achieve our goal of providing a life of love and dignity to all animals We have successfully placed more than 2,000 homeless cats and dogs in loving homes.
We are a no-kill animal rescue that gives our animals as long as they need to find the right home! CCAD uses the free services of PETFINDER to expand our pet related information resources. PETFINDER is a national system and has many valuable pieces of information on its site. Most of CCAD adult cats reside at our Tree of Life Pet Sanctuary in Queenstown. Our young kittens and dogs live in foster homes or at Dandyland Pet Care Center in Centreville. Because our cats live in our Tree of Life Pet Sanctuary and our dogs are in foster homes or at Dandyland, our organization is uniquely qualified to match potential adopters with the right animal for their home. A lot of the animals in our rescue are from kill shelters. When you adopt from us, you are saving two lives because you are allowing us to save yet more animals from kill shelters. Please consider adopting from us, so that we can continue our mission of providing a life of love and dignity for all cats and dogs. All applications are processed by volunteers in the order they are received to make the best match for families and dogs/cats. Please download fill an adoption application by downloading a form, filling it out, and sending a completed copy by mail, or a picture from your cellphone. Our fax number is (866-811-5119). You may download and submit the completed form by email, or by dropping it off at our Tree of Life Pet Sanctuary during open business hours. This application will give us the information we need to make sure the cat or dog you’re considering is the right fit for your home. The adoption donation ($100 for cats; $350 for dogs, depending on breed) helps to cover the costs of spaying/neutering, testing for contagious diseases, micro-chipping, and required shots. Contact us if you have any questions. Please understand that it may take longer at times for us to process applications on high-interest animals, such as kittens or puppies. Thank you for understanding! Please be aware that our dogs are in foster homes and are not located at our Tree of Life Pet Sanctuary in Queenstown. You can contact us by email to arrange a meeting with a dog, or you can meet some of our dogs at an adoption show or fundraising event.
