Bella-Reed Pit Bull Rescue (BRPBR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit pit bull rescue organization located in Southeastern, Pennsylvania. We are a small network of hardworking volunteers and foster homes dedicated to advocating for the most misunderstood breed in the world: The American Pit Bull Terrier. We are completely devoted to the positive promotion of the pit bull. While we work strictly out of the Philadelphia and NJ areas, we network with rescue groups and other informative groups all over the world. We do not have a brick and mortar location for people to visit, AKA a kennel or a shelter. We rely solely on our foster homes to provide the love and care our dogs need until they find their forever home.
Fill out our adoption application ONLINE or download it here and either email it back to bellareedpitbullrescue@aol.com (we do not recommend mailing your application). You will hear from us via email or phone once we receive and process your app (be sure to check your email frequently after applying). This can take a few days, so be patient! Once the written application is processed and approved, we will need to schedule a home check. If all goes well with the home check, you will be eligible to meet the dog(s) you are interested in adopting. We will need to schedule a meet-and-greet with other dogs in the home on neutral ground (a park, a field, etc) within our kennel license. All household members MUST be present during the meeting - no exceptions. Depending on our volunteer/foster schedule, home checks and meet and greets MAY be done at the same time. If you still think you would like to adopt after the meet and greet, we require that you give us an answer after a 24 hour time period has lapsed. This gives all family members time to talk it out and think about it - we don't want any rash decisions being made about adding a new family member! If you decide to officially adopt, an adoption date will be scheduled within our kennel license area to meet with a BRPBR volunteer to sign the legally binding adoption contract. At this time you will provide us with your non-refundable adoption/donation fee and we will provide you with your new companion! If for ANY reason you can no longer keep your BRPBR adopted dog, you MUST contact us and we will discuss taking him/her back into our program. Adoption fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
