Adoption Process

If one of our adoptable animals has caught your eye, the first step in the adoption process is the Animal Compassion Team (ACT) online application. In some cases, we may ask you to bring your current furry family members and young children so we can assist in a proper introduction. This is especially important with our powerful large breed friends. ACT wants to ensure your new friend is a good fit for your home. We want to make sure both you and your new pet will be happy. Adjustment periods are very important, so keep in mind it can take a few days even weeks to fully adjust to new schedules, smells and establish bonds, (see adjustment periods undertaking home a new friend) however if it is truly not a good fit we will always take back our pets. When an animal is taken into the ACT family it is guaranteed a place with us for life. No matter what; There is never a need to place ads on Craig’s List or work to rehome on your own with a stranger. We will be here to assist you.
