Animal Adoption Center will provide temporary shelter and medical care for rescued cats and dogs for the purpose of finding them suitable and permanent new homes. AAC will educate the community regarding the importance of spay/neuter programs, and promote thoughtful and healthy relationships between pet owners and their animals, in part by providing our adopted cats and dogs with lifetime support.
You can check out our available cats & dogs on the website, but visiting the shelter is the best way to see if any of our awesome animals are right for you. A visit is also a good time to talk to one of our staff members about what kind of pet you’re looking for. FOR CATS: Because of limited space in our cat rooms, visits to the shelter will be BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please fill out our adoption questionnaire, then follow-up by emailing us at info@animaladoption.com. Complete our Questionnaire BEFORE COMING TO THE SHELTER. Feel free to use your smartphone or other connected device (tablets included). Our adoption questionnaire helps us learn about your lifestyle, so we can match you with the perfect pet. Filling out your questionnaire will make your time at the shelter more productive and it gives the staff a means to observe social distancing recommendations. If you haven't filled it out prior to coming to the shelter, you will be asked to step outside and fill it out on your personal device. We have a public Wi-fi that you are more than welcome to use to fill it out. When you visit the shelter, please bring all of the members of your household. If you have a dog or dogs, bring them, as well. This will allow us to complete our process in a timely manner. If you don't bring your family and/or dog(s), you can walk through the kennel and view the dogs, but we won't be able to bring anyone out for you. If you rent your home, you will be required to submit written permission to adopt. That permission must list any breed or weight restrictions. If you indicate that you own your home, the staff will use readily available public records to confirm ownership. Each person entering the facility will be required to wear a face covering. Unfortunately, pulling your shirt up to cover your nose and mouth is not an acceptable face covering. Your safety and the safety of the staff is paramount, so there will be no exceptions to this requirement. AAC is a fairly small facility. If things get too crowded, we may ask you to wait in your car so that we can observe proper social distancing. If that occurs, we will take your phone number and call you as people exit the facility. Again, your safety and the safety of the staff is paramount. Part of our adoption agreement includes taking your new family member to the vet within 14 days of your adoption for a check-up, and….That’s it!
