Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats (Almost Home) is a no-kill, private 501c3 nonprofit, cage-free rescue and adoption center. Almost Home does not receive government funding (tax dollars) like the municipal (kill) shelters receive, and therefore we depend on generous and caring individual donors and volunteers to keep our doors open. Almost Home is dedicated to finding loving, responsible homes for rescued, homeless, and abused animals.
Stop by the adoption center during open hours, meet all all of our furry friends, and find the cat (or cats) in which you are interested in adopting. Almost Home is also a sanctuary, so some of the kitties have special needs and. Ask an attendant if you have questions regarding a particular kitty. When you have found the kitty (or kitties) in which you are interested in adopting, ask an attendant for an application. An application must be for a specific cat or kitten. Adopters must be at least 21 years of age with valid driver’s license identification. All potential adopters must submit an application and interview with an Adoption Counselor to be considered as a forever home for our cats. Adoptions are cut off about 1 hour prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends and evenings are especially busy, and you may have to wait more than an hour, so please be prepared. Almost Home does not put animals “on hold” for potential adopters. The adoption interview and paperwork usually takes a minimum of 1.5 hours to complete (including waiting time) and you will take your adopted animal with you when the adoption paperwork is completed. It may take several days for an application to be processed. Please do not try to adopt in a hurry. Submitting an application and/or completing an interview does not guarantee an approval. It also does not guarantee the adoption of a particular cat. Almost Home may recommend a different cat which may be more suitable to your household. Almost Home will determine the best home for each cat based on the application process and interview.
