The Alaska SPCA's mission is to reduce the suffering of Alaska's companion animals. The Alaska SPCA's vision is for Alaska to be a state where all companion animals experience emotional, physical, and environmental health and lifelong wellness.
Once you have made the decision to adopt, please come in and meet with one of our friendly adoption coordinators! The adoption coordinator will give you more information on our animals and help you decide which pets might be right for you. In addition, he or she will review our application process with you and answer any questions you may have! Our adoption center features a meet-and-greet room to allow potential adopters time with our available animals. All animals are spayed or neutered and microchipped before leaving for their forever homes. In addition, they have received the required age-appropriate vaccines. Our staff will make sure you are aware of your new family member's vaccine schedule. All cats have been tested for feline leukemia. All dogs whose new families live in the Municipal of Anchorage will receive a one year license. Adoption is a partnership between the adopter, AK SPCA staff and the animal. We are committed to making that partnership work for everyone.
