WAR/SCAA is a private 501c3 non profit organization located in Seaford, DE. We are all volunteers working for the same cause - to help homeless dogs and cats. We do not have a shelter and all rescues are kept at our homes or in foster homes.
Please note we will do a veterinarian reference on any current and/or previous pets. All of the pets in your home MUST be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines in order to be approved. We strive hard to stop the unnecassary killing of pets due to unwanted litters being born. All of our dogs have been vet checked, are up to date on all shots, current on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. If they are over 6 months of age they have been tested for heartworms. All dogs and puppies are spayed and neutered as well. Cats are also vetted and up to date on all shots, and neutered or spayed if age size appropriate. If interested in adoption please fill out a pre adoption form. If approved there is a contract that you will need to sign agreeing to terms of the adoption. VET REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED FOR ANY OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS. If you do not live in the state of Delaware and do not have a previous vet history we cannot and will not be able to approve you for adoption. The only way we will adopt out of state is by getting a vet reference on current or previous pets. Adoption fees vary depending on the particular pet you adopt. Normally it ranges from $75.00 to $300.00. It all depends on what we have into them. You can email any questions you may have to DelawareRescue@aol.com. This is strictly for questions. Please do not call and ask to come and see the pets available. You must first complete the application once approved we will gladly set up a time for you to come and meet the pets. Visiting the animals is set by appointment only. We want to insure that both the animals and yourself get quality time together and therefore you will need to make an appointment to see them. Our first priority is to them and alot of our time is spent caring for them daily. The first step for adoption is completing the application. Please do not call or email us first...fill out the application first. Once approved we will contact you to answer any questions you may have and to schedule a time to come and see the animals. We are a private rescue and DO NOT have set hours as all of our pets are in foster care as we do not have a shelter. Our goal is to find the right homes for the pets in our care. Please be patient sometimes it can take a few days for us to contact you. This is due to the fact that we are an all volunteer rescue with pets of our own as well as children and jobs. This could affect how long it will take us to get back to you. Rest assured that we are working on your application.
