We are a small humane society dedicated to the welfare of companion animals. We house animals at our shelter in St. James and in loving foster homes. The animals that come to us are primarily owner surrenders and strays.
All potential adopters are required to go through an adoption application process. That is the first step towards adopting a pet. The application is at the bottom of the page. Watonwan County Humane Society (WCHS) volunteers review applications and will get back to you as soon as they can with an approval status. Please note we are all volunteers, we appreciate your patience. If at any point in time you can no longer can care for the pet you adopted from WCHS, we ask that you return the pet to our care. Please note that Watonwan County Humane Society reserves the right to refuse any adoption. The first step in the WCHS adoption process is to fill out and return an adoption application.
