Waters Edge Great Dane Rescue, Inc. is dedicated to taking in Great Danes that have been abused, neglected, placed in shelters, or those surrendered by their owners. We provide all of our Danes with the best veterinary care. They are placed in experienced foster homes in our surrounding area, until we find them a loving and stable forever home. Our organization has a charitable tax-exemption under 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Waters Edge Great Dane Rescue, Inc is funded 100% by donations. With an ever growing number of dogs in need, we need continued support and assistance for medical care & housing during the adoption process.
Fill out our application! Phone Interview - our adoption coordinator will give you a call after processing your application. This does not happen 5 minutes after you submit your app! Please be patient and give us time to sort thru the many, many applications we receive. Home visit - A volunteer will come to your home to visit with you and discuss the care of Great Danes. The volunteer will also look for any potential problems and check to be sure that your fencing is secure. Your home visit does not mean you have been approved. Approval - After the above steps have been completed all your information will be reviewed and a decision will be made about adoption. If at this point you are approved to adopt, WEGDR will help guide you to the appropriate dog for your family. Meet & Greet - after discussing which Danes would make the perfect fit for your family and lifestyle we will set up a day for you to meet them! Adoption & Contract - For the protection of the Great Danes we place, everyone that adopts a Great Dane from WEGDR will be required to sign an adoption contract.
