We are the Municipal Dog Pound for the Police Department in the City of Waterbury, CT. The Waterbury Dog Pound takes in, on average, between 50 and 60 dogs a month. The majority are strays or sick/injured dogs. We have 40 kennels to provide a temporary, safe shelter for these dogs. But, unfortunately, their time is limited here at the shelter. We are committed to placing our adoptable dogs in good homes, but we can’t do it alone. We are always in urgent need of your assistance in finding our dogs loving and responsible owners. Did you know that over 5,000,000 healthy dogs and cats are euthanized in the U.S. every year due to the lack of a good home? Before you purchase your next pet, consider adopting a homeless shelter dog that needs YOU!
Adotion fees: $50 fee for All unspayed/unneutered animals. This fee includes State of CT voucher which covers some or all of the costs of the spay/neuter (depending upon which vet you use) as well as the rabies and distemper vaccines. $5 fee for previously neutered/spayed animals. $5 fee for out of state adopters with proof of residency (ID).
