I started rescuing Welsh Corgis more than 9 years ago because I have two corgis of my own. That first summer, I went to my local shelter and picked up 3 cardigan welsh corgi over a 6 week period and noticed all the beautiful purebred dogs at the shelter. After getting to know the dog warden, she said that most of these dogs were going to be put to sleep. Of course, I had to bring some dogs home. My very first rescues were a beautiful female doberman, a golden retriever, and a boxer. I was able to find them wonderful homes and then decided to get my own Petfinder site. That first year, I placed more than 200 dogs with the help of one other person. I also donated 1/3 of the gross adoption fee's to pay off a large vet bill owed by my local shelter. Another 1/3 went to spaying/neutering, vaccinations, medications, and all bills related to my vet and the other 1/3 went to housing, feeding and transporting hundreds of dogs all around the country. I've found happy families from NY to FL, and westward all the way to Seattle WA. I have now relocated to MD where I originally grew up and have decided to continue with rescuing dogs.
