Trampled Rose Rescue & Rehab is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Southeast Louisiana. Our mission and dedication is to the recovery of orphaned, injured and abandoned dogs. Many of our rescues come from situations of abuse, cruelty, neglect or have special needs. Rehabilitated dogs (and the occasional cat) are available for adoption as indoor companion animals to approved homes based on their individual needs. We believe in second chances.
Our applications are admittedly thorough. They are a 3-step process: written application, home check and one week home trial visit. Applicants MUST be over the age of 21 and NOT currently a first time college student. Potential Adopters are approved based on each individual rescue’s specific needs (ie. temperament, energy level, behavioral issues, special needs). If the written application is approved, we’ll do a home check next. If home check is approved, we schedule a meet and greet at the foster parent's home. If all goes well, the Potential Adopter may take the rescue home for a one week home trial visit to see if they’re a good fit. Should the home visit be a mutual success, we finalize the adoption formally with our contract and a $250 fee for puppies/dogs under 2 years of age or $200 for dogs 2 years or older. Our volunteer rescue team will review your written application and if we think you're a good match for the rescue, you'll hear back from our adoption coordinator. Application approvals are not decided by one person, but by our entire rescue team with solely the rescue's needs in mind. Please be patient.
