These Little Guineas - Coatesville Pet Shelter

Started in April of 2018, Samantha created These Little Guineas out of her home. Initially, TLG only accepted guinea pigs. Within the first year of being open, we took in 99 guinea pigs. In January of 2019, we began accepting rabbits and rats. We quickly became popular in the animal community and had to expand to a new location. We rented a large building in Pittsboro from March 2019 to October 2019, and then a smaller building in Brownsburg from October 2019 until March 2020, when Samantha and her husband, Mitchell, purchased four acres in Coatesville, IN. This is where the shelter now permanently resides. As of August 2020, we have taken in over 500 animals. We are very fortunate to have an 80% adoption rate, and most of our animals have found furever homes. We now accept all rodents, rabbits, fowl, birds, some reptiles and amphibians, wildlife, and a limited amount of farm animals. Samantha is in training to receive her wildlife rehabber’s licence in May 2021, and will also be seeking out her USDA education license to help educate the public on animals, both domestic and wild. She also hopes to attend Veterinary School at Purdue within the next few years to help ensure the shelter animals never go without medical care.
