Once you've submitted your application, please allow at least 48 hours for review. If your application is approved and we think it's a good match, someone from our team will contact you to schedule a meet and greet. If you have other dogs (or pets), children, or anyone who will be involved with the dog on a regular basis, please make sure to include them in the meet and greet. If the meet and greet goes well for both you and the dog, the next step in the adoption process is a mandatory home check. Once we are certain the dog is right for you and you are right for the dog, we will move to a foster-to-adopt trial. The foster-to-adopt trial is a 7-day trial period that allows you and your potential new dog to acclimate to one another to make sure the dog is the right fit for you and your lifestyle. If we, the HIT Living Foundation team and you, the potential adopter, collectively determine the dog is the right fit, we will ask you to finalize the adoption at the end of the 7 days by signing an adoption contract to make it official!
