Texas Chihuahua Rescue is comprised of passionate individuals, dedicated to saving the lives of the second most euthanized dog breed in Texas. We strive to educate our community, assist our shelters, and continue to grow our organization. TXCR is here to help small dogs live big dreams.
If you are in the United States and wish to adopt, please fill out an application at https://texaschihuahuarescue.org/applications/adoption/ to be pre-approved for adoption. TXCR is based in Pleasanton Texas. If you are in the U.S. you must be able to travel to Pleasanton Texas to adopt. Our adoption fee in the U.S. is $400. All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption. Spay/neuter, rabies, bordetella, dhpp and booster, heartworm tested if over 8 months, chipped and registered to the adopter, current on flea/tick and heartworm medication, dewormed, fitted collar, and harness. Once your application is approved, a volunteer will reach out to you with bios and photos of available dogs. Most of our dogs are transported to Canada, and we have a backlog of Canadian applicants waiting for dogs. Your adoption through TXCR may take several weeks. Please be patient as we are all doing the best we can and doing the best for the dogs.
