Sunshine Paws - Crown Point Pet Shelter

Sunshine Paws

Sunshine PAWS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescue and adoption. We specialize in the rescue of animals from Northwest Indiana shelters and high-kill shelters in other areas. We place the animals in caring foster homes, preparing them for successful adoption into their FOREVER HOME. We gladly serve as an educational resource for the public regarding the prevention of cruelty to animals. Our focus on the importance of microchip ID's spay and neuter awareness is one of the ways we hope to reduce the population of homeless and stray animals in our community. Sunshine PAWS works with talented and committed volunteers and professional veterinarians to provide all animals in our foster care with medical attention and a safe haven prior to placement in their permanent, loving FOREVER HOMES.

Adoption Process

We want to do everything possible to make your adoption a success. So, please take the time to fill out our adoption survey. This will give us some insight into the type of pet that will be well suited to your home and lifestyle. We strive to place our dogs with families that can provide a safe home environment with lots of time available for love, consistent exercise and training. We know that adding a new puppy or dog to the family is a BIG TIME COMMITTMENT - and we want to do all we can to make every adoption a success for everyone involved. Please know that you must be at least 24 years of age to qualify for adoption. Homes with children over the age of 5 will be preferred over those with younger children. Families must live no further than 60 miles from Crown Point, Indiana.
