Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue has been in existence since 1996 at 11129 W Michigan Ave, Youngtown, 85363. The 4 Paws Bargain Boutique opened in 1996 and at the beginning of the thrift store’s history, cats were kept in the store and were available for adoption. As both the thrift store and the rescue grew, the cats moved into Suite 1 in 2000 and the thrift store acquired another suite. Over the last 17 years 4 Paws has grown so much they now have six total suites on Michigan Ave, three for the cats and three for the thrift store, along with an additional shelter in Peoria at 10807 N 96th Ave and adoptions out of two PetSmarts (in Surprise and Lake Pleasant). Since 4 Paws opened, thousands of cats and kittens have found a new lease on life through our adoption program. Those currently awaiting adoption receive daily care from a dedicated group of staff and volunteers. As a nonprofit organization, we rely entirely on charitable contributions and service fees.
Because adopting a cat or kitten, or any other pet, is a serious decision, 4 Paws has a team of adoption counselors trained to assist you with finding a feline companion that is likely to be a good fit for your household. They will help you get to know the cats and kittens for adoption, answer questions, and provide information about cat behavior and care. To adopt a cat or kitten: Meet the cats and kittens in-person. Allow at least an hour for your visit. Meet with an adoption counselor, fill out and sign adoption contract. Children under 16 must be accompanied by adult. Must be 18 years or older and provide proof of residence. Check your lease or renter’s policies prior to visiting 4 Paws. 4 Paws reserves the right to refuse an adoption.
