Founded in 1997 by concerned local citizens, Spay/Neuter, Inc., is a 501c3, all volunteer, non-profit organization devoted to the welfare of dogs and cats in the Waynesboro, Staunton, Stuarts Draft, Augusta County, and surrounding areas of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. We work with other rescue groups, animal shelters, and private citizens to promote animal welfare by accepting unwanted, neglected, or homeless pets, educating the public about the importance of spaying and neutering, and offering financial assistance when owners cannot afford the cost of spaying/neutering their pets.
Spay Neuter, Inc. is dedicated to finding the best, forever homes for the animals we help. As a result of this, our requirements may be more than you would find at an animal shelter. Because we are an all volunteer group with limited time to return calls and emails, (we all have jobs and other life commitments in addition to our rescue work), we ask that you complete and submit an adoption application when you find a dog or cat of ours you are interested in learning more about. This also will speed up the adoption process for you should you decide you've found your match!
